Summer is full of fun, but also busyiness. Granted i signed up for all the things i do this season. Sometimes i sign up for a little too much. So to keep my sanity here's what i've been doing.
- Have craft stuff on hand. Freezer paper and markers and paints. Seriously it will give you a good 30-45 min to get a few things done.
- Set Washer to delay cycle if available. I love when things are crazy and i still get laundry done. Before you go to bed throw in the clothes, detergent, and set for it to be done an hour before your alarm. So it runs, then waits for you to pour yourself a cup of coffee and switch it over. Then a load is dry right as breakfast is finishing up. One load may not tackle your mountain, but it will help knock it out some.
- Don't over do dinner. Crock pot meal and a frozen veggie are a killer combination. Those "steam in bag" veggies are a timesaver.
- Have a plan. A loose weekly list of things to accomplish on top of regular chores is super helpful to have. Knock off things as the get done. Write down thing you have to add in. This may also be helpful when you wonder where your time went.
- Prep some fun/unusual activities for your kids to do un.mommed. Oreo moon phases, planting seeds, special outside time, and even easy snacks. All this my two have been able to do together or by themselves.
- Plan a break. Having lunch outside is one of our favorites. It gets us outside away form the business that is usually inside. Also you could do a mini craft time. Like this simple turn your shirt into a skirt. Literally find a shirt that is to big for you, that also has a stretchy jersey band at the bottom and cut at the arm pits. There a simple skirt with no need to hem, since jersey doesn't fray. These small thinks will help you feel accomplished yet on task as you get them done.
