talk to me

As Easton & I were in the car headed to Block Buster we had many conversations. About coupons, Christmas gifts for family, attitudes around Christmas that aren't acceptable, and the different ways our family does Christmas gift swaps. When we talked about the White Elephant Gift Swap, he said he played it before. This is how it went:

(M) When did you play buddy?
{E} remember with George Bush. we swapped gifts.
(M) George bush?
{E} yeah, he's a leader in our church.
(M) You mean Pastor Butch?
{E} Yeah, him.

Much laughter, then talk of where we were born. Talk of home births {my dad was born @ home}, Hospital births, friends who have done home birth {one due soon!!}, and how E wants any of "our" babies to be born in the hospital. I love this time of conversations and just learning. Like what's his favorite candy bar: Hershey's. So simple. Yet i didn't know.

We also had a good time tonight talking about sin. He was so broken over a sin issue, how he chose wanting to win so bad over spending time with his dad. It too was a sweet time. Seeing him acknowledge the issue, and recognizing his need for forgiveness. The Lord is at work in his heart. Growing him, i may not get to see it all the time. I am truly grateful for when i do.
