Journey #3

Today we started a journey.

Not an easy one.

A journey of mourning another grandparent

My head races with thoughts.

My heart hearts.

Saturday Carlos's Grandpa past away.

Here's a clip of the obituary:

Nasario Carpio was born in Gonzales, Texas to Basilio and Maria Carpio. He worked diligently for his family, sharing his faith. He retired as an animal care taker with Texas A&M.

Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Joe Valerio and Arcelia Carpio, Froylan and Cathy Carpio, and Ramon and Linda Carpio; his daughters and sons-in-law, Berta and Juan Santibanez, Petra and Jose Rivera, Francis and Jose DeJusus, Maria (Lucy) and Juan Contreras, Mary and John Moreno Jr., Hilda and Raymond Salazar; his sisters, Celestina Carpio, Jesus Carpio and Agapita Carpio; his companion, Maria Guadalupe Ramirez Fonseca; 49 grandchildren and 96 great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Yes, you read correctly.

My sugar pies are in that 96.

My honey, one of the 49.

Today i watched as my husband and son had to go through their third grandparent funeral.

We have talked to Easton about this before the viewing tonight.

But when your there, it is different.

My little one took it hard.

It was so difficult to hold him sobbing " I want him back".

My sweet boy.

All i could do was hold him.

As we got water, i reminded him the Lord is in control.

When it is hard and it hurts so bad, He is still there.

We talked about Romans 8:28.

Some how, even though we can't see it, can't comprehend it, He's there.

So hard to see the big picture right now.

Romans is what i was hanging on as i kept thinking that my baby girl and those after her will not get to meet this man.

This man who spoke only Spanish.

This man who wore big aviator sun glasses even inside.

This man with a cowboy hat.

The one who would tap Easton on the head and say chop-er-on (Spanish).

oh, this journey...........
